A 10-pound split weight (or split cable weight) is a specialized marine-grade lead ball used on boat lifts. It is designed to clamp onto existing lift cables to keep them tight, preventing the wire from tangling or spooling loosely on the drum when the lift is empty.

Installation: Because of the split design, you can attach or adjust the weight anywhere on your existing cable without having to unhook or uninstall the line.

While the large center hole isn’t for the cable, it’s meant for attaching the weight to aluminum beams or strap hangers. Additionally, the weight includes cable grooves designed for clamping to both sides of the cable.

Hardware: Secured using two hot-dipped galvanized bolts, lock washers, and nuts (typically 5/16 in. × 1 1/2 in.)
