A 1/4-inch galvanized cable thimble is a metal reinforcement fitted inside a looped end of a 1/4-inch wire rope or cable.

- How It Works
- The cable is bent around the curved groove of the thimble.
- The loop is secured in place using cable clamps (or a crimped metal sleeve).
- Hooks or shackles can then pass through the center of the thimble, ensuring metal-on-metal wear happens to the thimble rather than the cable
