Of Waterside Vacations and Fishing Boats
By: kilian

An ideal location for a vacation is by the beach, a lake or by any other water body. Lakeside or beach side vacations call for a lot of water sports and activities. Those of adventurous spirit could enjoy swimming, scuba diving, snorkeling, jet-skiing or water gliding. Fishing is also an interesting and fun activity that one can undertake. Fishing can demand a lot of your patience. At the same time, the joy you experience when you haul a catch is overwhelming. Some people like fishing from the pier while some like to venture out into the ocean, river or lake and wait for their prize catch. Fishing boats play an important role if you want to have a really enjoyable fishing experience.

If you are travelling to a far away location for your holiday, it's not always possible or practicable to tow along your fishing boat. Most beach resorts and lakeside vacationing areas have facilities for fishing boat rentals. If you enjoy fishing and you are on a spontaneous trip, then this option would be a boon to you. Boat rental agencies have different kinds of fishing boats for you to choose from. Some agencies even supply equipment such as fishing rods, reels, hooks lines and lures, along with the boat.

Types of fishing boats

Jon Boat: This boat is small and flat-bottomed. A Jon boat can accommodate two people easily. The size of the boat can range between 8 to 14 feet. These boats are usually equipped with a motor than runs at 10 horsepower. It can be used ideally in a lake or pond.

Aluminum Fishing Boat: The size of an aluminum fishing boat may reach up to 20 feet in length. These boats are rugged, hardy and are able to resist damage or spring a leak because of rocks or stones in shallow water.

Fiberglass Boats: These boats are a preferred choice while fishing in lakes or other large water bodies like rivers. Fiberglass boats can be used for deep sea fishing as well.

Rowboats: Rowboats have semi-V or modified-V hulls. They may be of the wooden or aluminum variety. These boats have benches on either sides and can be maneuvered using oars. An outboard or motor can also be attached to the rear end of a rowboat.

The other kinds of fishing boats available at fishing boat rentals are bay fishing boats, pontoon fishing boats, sport fishing yachts, deck fishing boats, catamarans, canoes and utility boats. Fishing boat rentals have several regulations that you need to abide by. You will have to submit a security deposit, follow guidelines and take safety measures as well.
